Israel deports first Eritrean regime supporter after 14 years in the country

The deportation marks the first time that an Eritrean national has been booted from Israel.  The Eritrean national, a divorcee with one child, entered Israel in August 2011 and has remained in the country since.

In April 2025, he underwent a hearing by a border control supervisor after being arrested by the Israel Police while in possession of a machete. He was also suspected of making threats to his family.

After his hearing, he was transferred to the Givon detention facility in Ramle.
