Eritrean Peoples Movement for Justice in North America support the work of COIE

22 Jun 2016

We, Eritrean Peoples Movement for Justice in North America, are deeply grateful and supportive of the exceptional work done by the Commission of Inquiry Eritrea to determine the extent of human rights violations perpetrated against the Eritrean people by the totalitarian regime in Eritrea. We are particularly encouraged by the conclusion and recommendations made by the commission to have the International Criminal Court (ICC) involved in bringing the perpetrators of those heinous crimes to justice.

The day of Reckoning and Judgment of PFDJ gangs!

07 May 2016

Ever since the day that the PLF was planning for its 1st Congress many untold atrocities in the Sahel area, were already committed. This was the starting point of the following situation to come in practice. Leadership quality does not measure by killing a number of the people who were engaged in the war of Independence, and
minimizing the enemy causalities as Issayas Afewrki was planning in his head.

Warmongering and the fate of our Youth (Eritrean Youth)

17 Jun 2016

“Eritrea and Ethiopia should settle their boarder dispute, said UN General Secretary.” Eritrean government is an illegal and unrepresentative to the Nation, however so far all the wars committed are only decided by one man and his foot soldiers. As if the 30 years of protracted war for Independence is not enough, the regime has built a military state of which 10% of the school age and senior members of the population are engaged in military drills and carrying arms. The main reason given to these army of non proffessional soldiers, is that the country is in No War No Peace situation with our neighbours, mainly with our southern neighbour Ethiopia. This position was created to sustain his power in the country and to spoil all developments in the Horn of African countries, including Djibouti.

The last war!

17 Jun 2016

The UN commission of inquiry last week’s announcement was a massive smack to the regime in Eritrea. Not only that the report has left them disgraced in front of the international community, yet it has also caused frustration to the point that they became so hostile in dealing with the world .All they have been doing was overreacting out of fear. No wonder then waging war with Ethiopia can be a technique used by PFDJ to divert the world’s attention away from the serious charges of grave human rights violations against the regime. But full scale war, for a country that has been languishing for many years, would be unbearable and can have the risk of self breakdown.

Eritrean Refugee Tragedy in the Mediterranean Sea as Eritreans Celebrate the 25th Independence Day Anniversary

14 Jun 2016

It was just about two weeks ago that we celebrated the independence day of Eritrea; the day that, through the blood, sweet and tremendous sacrifices of her people, Eritrea became an independent country, 25- years ago on May 24, 1991.  All over the globe, Eritreans gathered to celebrate the momentous day of independence, most importantly, however, the gatherings were to mourn, remember and pay respect to the many Eritreans that have lost and continue to loss their lives in the torture chambers of the prisons of Eritrea, in the hands of the human traffickers in the Sahara and Sanai Deserts, and in the merciless seas of the Mediterranean and Red Seas. These were also gatherings to say enough to the suffering and the inhuman condition that the Eritreans are under in their country and out of their country in search of a better life for them and for their families.   These gatherings were also remembrances of the death of over 300 Eritreans that lost their lives in the Mediterranean Sea at the shores of Lampedusa, Italy, in October 2013.

The Eritrean political landscape has been experiencing splitting, conflicting at all times in its political history. This is the experience of crisis inherited from our past history. What we need today is to change this attitude of negation and conflict ridden culture and build attitude of conflict resolving and management skills and knowledge without any external intervention or any involvement of facilitator like that of Ethiopia/ Sanna Forum that have been intervening in our home affairs.

Eritrean Tragedy and PFDJ damage Control

15 Apr 2016

Previous rulers in Eritrea committed an untold crimes against our people. The Italian fascists have killed as many as 2000 people in Massawa and left the
bodies of their victims to decay in the heat of the outskirts of the villages of katumia, Umkulu and Hirgigo in the year 1890-ties, there are also stories of untold number of Eritrean killed by the Ottoman Turk soldiers and Egyptians similar crimes in the Red Sea coast during their invasion earlier than the Italian occupation of the coastline areas. We all remember the Ona carnage by the Ethiopian occupying forces and again the Wekiduba, Hirgigo, Emberemi massacres, and 2 times Eilet murders using Tanks
and heavy artillery killing women, children even old men and blind.

An Urgent Call to All Eritreans Worldwide

25 May 2016

Tomorrow is our country’s 25th independence anniversary. The independence of our country was achieved at the terrible cost of hundreds of thousands of its sons and daughters who have been martyred and maimed. Unfortunately, all the sacrifices made have failed to realize the dream of a better life for the Eritrean people. There is no Eritrean who is not saddened and concerned about the increasingly worsening situation prevailing in our country. Therefore, we believe that all of us collectively have a compelling moral and national duty to ensure that all the sacrifices that were made to gain our independence and indeed our liberation have not been in vain.

I was motivated to put this article into a draft, thinksing that we already did enough talk and I hope the youth have gathered enough information from the past mistakes and should have taken a lesson from it by now. It is time to think forward and plan for the future of Eritrean democracy, it is also time for change in attitude and manner of struggle, for a better future in our country and for the coming generations

To reconcile with the irreconcilably partisan politics of Eritrea

06 Apr 2016

In an era of war and devastation committed by the West against, societies in the Middle East and Africa, the root cause of all destruction lies in an area along  the strategic route of the Red Sea Coast. This cancerous entity has done a colossal damage to its neighborhoods and its own core supporters inside Eritrea. The regime of Isayas Afewrki and its monopolistic political entity is successively pilfering its own people and country. Today the people of Eritrea are the most unfortunate and downtrodden folks in Africa.
